During the presentation, Leslie Blaize, CPSM, explained that 1 Case Study = 3 Wins. She reviewed what steps attendees should follow to develop a case study and explained its main elements: the happy client’s challenge, the A/E/C firm’s solution, and quantitative and/or qualitative results.

Blaize outlined a six-step process for developing a case study. Initial steps begin with project selection and getting permission from the happy client. Other actions include writing the case study, getting approval, designing the document, and promoting it.

In addition, she encouraged attendees to bring storytelling into their project collateral. Project updates don’t have to be boring! They can start by incorporating a brief human interest story — even if it’s only a few sentences — into a project update. Stories also can add interest to award entries and client interviews.
